Jobe Watson - Gun of a Son

Jobe Watson was drafted to Essendon in 2002 as a father-son selection, his dad Tim having been a 307-game club legend in the 80s and 90s. His debut in 2003 was far from memorable and in the early years of his career, he never looked like he would make it at AFL level. But a move into the midfield in 2006 turned everything around and over the following seasons Jobe grew into one of the strongest and most damaging on-ballers in the league. He went onto play 220 games for Essendon, captained the Bombers from 2010-2015, won best & fairests in 2009, 2010 and 2012, was All-Australian in 2012 and 2013 and was crowned a Brownlow medallist in 2012. The tragedy of the Essendon supplements saga heaped more injustice on Jobe than just about anyone else, but throughout the darkest times he led the Bombers with distinction and class, exactly how he played throughout his career. This highlights package is a tribute to a brilliant player and an outstanding person, who will forever be the true 2012 Brownlow winner in my eyes. You are a star Jobe Watson and an absolute gun of a son! (Shoutout to my brother for designing another awesome video intro!)
