Super Tactile Fiddle Balls – Easy Crochet Make

We could all benefit from a little mindfulness right now. Whether your child has difficulty concentrating, your parent has trouble recalling recent events, or you are just so caught up with everything else that’s going on in your life. Its rippled surface made from soft 100% cotton yarn is irresistible and you’ll find yourself fiddling with it for hours. It’s also a brilliant first project for a newbie crocheter as after the initial foundation ring you’re just working trebles so it’s perfect for stabilising your tension, both on the hook and in your mind! Worked in the round you can make your ball as ripple-y as you desire, just add more stitches as you work up the ball. It can also double up as a play ball for a pet that likes to mouth rather than chew, a soft ball for toddlers to practise their catching skills, a washable scrubbie for the bath, or even a funky hair scrunchie when worked around a loop of elastic. Chain 2 to represent a tr, work as many tr into the ring as you can fit, squeezing them up if necessary – 20 is a good number to aim for, and join with a slip stitch. Chain 2 to represent your first tr, and then work 3 tr into the same stitch as the slip stitch. Work four tr into every stitch of the first round to make approximately 80 stitches and join with a slip stitch.
