1974 Yamaha YZ80a restoration (part 1)

This is part one of a two part series that we’ll take an in depth look at the wonderful intricacies of the enigma known as the YZ80A. This wonderful iconic masterpiece of Japanese engineering will be restored to its former glory with painstakingly intricate attention to detail. This craftsman was born 80 years ago in Japan, where he learned at the age of 3, how to build a ct70 from scratch. Using nothing but raw materials, mined from raw ore. Just kidding. 😁 It’s a restoration video. Hopefully part one of only 2 parts. In this episode: I take apart the engine, rebuild, replace, and paint it. Rebuild and polish the forks. Rebuild the wheels w new spokes, bearings, and brakes. New tubes/ tires. And tons and tons of polishing (reduced down to a few minutes, cause nobody wants to watch that crap). And as always, I try my best to show as many part numbers and parts fiche / schematics as possible, all whilst trying to make an entertaining show for us mechanics 👍 Next episode: wheels put on, seat rebuild, tank body work and paint, plastics paint and decals, first start! Come back and check it out. Leave me a comment friend, you read this far.
