Repairing a Makita DUH502 18V Cordless hedge trimmer under warranty with a faulty controler.

Don't get many hedge trimmers in for repair, but this is the first one iv had to repair under warranty for Makita. The controle board had failed, but cannot see any reason as to why. Normaly there would be some evidence of missuse or overloading. But this don't seem to show any signs. But seeing as the part number has changed, there must have been some common fault that makita decided to rightify.
