ONE Finger Pattern for ALL Advanced, 4 Octave Cello Scales

Today's vlog was inspired by a shorter video I made about a universal fingering for ALL advanced scales! Once you follow these rules, remembering your 4 octave scales will become so much easier! Here is the formula for your scale finger pattern, with many additional tips covered in the full video: 🌟 Be sure you are already comfortable in thumb position and have been working on that with your teacher before you go into advanced scales. 🌟 Avoid all open strings (except for your C string when starting a C scale). 🌟 Octaves 1-2 : you'll use all 4 fingers before shifting. 🌟 Octaves 3-4 : when going into thumb position use this sequence for both octaves, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2-3. Depending on your key, the very first 1-2 may be a 1-3, which you see is the case for this video & the D major scale.
