"Lord Peter Mandelson addresses the Oxford Union as he stands for election as Chancellor of Oxford University. Lord Mandelson attended St Catherine's College Oxford in the 1970s and went on to become Director of Communications of the Labour Party under Neil Kinnock in 1985. He was elected as Member of Parliament for Hartlepool in 1992 and served until 2004 when he became a European Commissioner. A close ally of Tony Blair, he served as campaign director for the Labour Party in the 1997 general election. He is now one of the hosts of the Times Radio podcast ""How to Win an Election"" with Danny Finkelstein, Polly Mackenzie and Matt Chorley."
