Selecting the right camshaft- Matching your cam to your compression ratio - PART 1
This video highlights what can happen if you choose a camshaft that is too big for your engine, and why it is important to select the right combination of parts. The test subject in this video is a 406 Pontiac from previous videos but this applies to all engines. We have increased static compression from 9.1:1 to 9.88:1 The Crower 60916 camshaft has been advanced 4 degrees to increase cylinder pressure and improve low end torque. It is manufactured with 4 degrees of advance ground into it, to achieve the 108CL it was installed 4 degrees of advance. It is now installed at 104 which is on the 8 degree advance mark. We will find out how much of a difference this makes on March 18 when we Dyno this engine again.
