Kikanbo Tokyo: Sind die Tsukemen besser als die Ramen?!
What's up in Tokyo? Today I'm back at Kikanbo – one of my absolute favorite ramen spots in Japan. In the first video, I already tried their regular ramen; this time, it's all about the tsukemen: dipping noodles Kikanbo-style. Tsukemen are different from classic ramen: the noodles are served separately in a bowl and are dipped into a concentrated, thicker broth or sauce. At Kikanbo, this is combined with their signature intense flavor of chili, Szechuan spice, roasted notes, umami, and that unique spiciness that makes the place so special. I'm also trying a small rice bowl with chashu/pulled pork on rice and, at the end, comparing the tsukemen to the regular Kikanbo ramen. Which version should you order if you're there for the first time? And are the tsukemen perhaps even better? My conclusion: Kikanbo remains one of the best ramen restaurants in the world. The tsukemen are incredibly strong – but for your first visit, I'd still recommend the regular ramen.
