In this 4K walking tour, I’ll take you through the capital’s main square, lively shopping streets, quiet corners, and cultural landmarks, while sharing my personal thoughts and reflections inspired by the Blomblaum philosophy. The evening starts at the main square, the heart of Santa Cruz and the place where stages are often set up for concerts, celebrations and cultural events. It is a square full of light, space and energy — a natural gathering point for locals and visitors alike. As I continue along the main street, one of the most interesting spots is Palmelita Café, a historic bar and pastry shop founded in 1968. It’s famous for its cakes, apple strudels and even gluten-free options. Seeing it on my left reminds me how much this city preserves its traditions while embracing modern life. As I walk further, I notice that some streets go slightly uphill. But the climb is gentle, and with Tenerife’s famously mild and stable climate, it never feels like a burden — rather it becomes part of the pleasure of the stroll. This island allows you to walk slowly, to enjoy the rhythm of the evening, to breathe and simply be present. Being Friday night, the city feels alive. The streets are filled with people talking, walking and enjoying the atmosphere. Santa Cruz transforms into a lively capital, yet without ever losing its relaxed spirit. I arrive in one of my favourite squares, wide and open, and I can see how people look relaxed and smiling — a clear sign that life here is not stressful or chaotic like in larger European metropolises. At some point I find myself on a quieter street, almost deserted, but I follow the sound of voices and music, heading back towards the more vibrant part of town. This contrast between silence and life is exactly what makes Santa Cruz so fascinating: it offers both calm corners and lively spots, depending on where you turn. For me, this walk is more than just showing you streets and buildings — it is about sharing a way of travelling slowly and reflectively, guided by the Blomblaum philosophy: • Blom is what I love — harmony, discoveries, beauty, and the positive side of travelling. • Blaum is what I like less — chaos, noise, and imperfections that sometimes disturb the balance.
