The Beatles "Ticket to Ride" Drum Cover - Ringo Starr Drum Set Lesson

"Ticket to Ride" is such a hip tune, and it is a favorite of many Beatles fans (including my dad). It was written by John Lennon, and is credited to Lennon & McCartney. This drum part is just too good. It's not for nothing that it has been talked about by musicians for decades! But at the same time, it's so obvious - at least in hindsight. Drumming at a time when rock 'n' roll was still so new, and jazz had been king for so long, Ringo creates a drum part that allows the whole tune to ooze with innovation. "Ticket to Ride" is just one example of how Ringo's musical choices are extremely unique whilst also fitting the music flawlessly. Regardless of who, specifically, came up with the ideas for this drum part (be it another member of the band, or a producer, or Ringo himself), Ringo is the one with control of all the subtle micro details that largely go unnoticed, and he is the one with the artistry to execute the notes to Beatlesy perfection.
