Förstlingen - The first Steam Locomotive in Sweden

Förstlingen the first steam built and used in Sweden. It was constructed by engineer Harald Asplund and built by Munktells mechanical workshop in Eskilstuna and maiden voyage took rooms June 2 1853. The "Project Förstlingen" has since 1982 been working to produce a reconstruction of the full scale of Förstlingen. She was completed and taken in operation 22 May 2004. At the celebration of the Swedish railway's 150th anniversary June 5, 2006 in Nora the copy of Förstlingen were run by H.M.K Carl XVI Gustaf. Förstlingen är det första ånglok som byggdes och användes i Sverige.
