🎵🙏🏾 BACK PORCH TESTIMONY 🙏🏾🎵 The other day, I had the opportunity to sit down and have a real conversation with one of my older brothers, Dexter "Duck" Lovett. For the first time in many years, we talked about life, growth, and the challenges we all face. During our conversation, he shared something that truly inspired me. For more than 30 years, he battled addiction. Through all of those years, he never obtained a driver's license. Today, by the grace of God, he has been clean and sober for the last four years. Now his biggest challenge isn't addiction—it's preparing to take the driver's test so he can legally drive and maintain the independence he has worked so hard to achieve. What touched me most was hearing his determination. He understands that recovery isn't just about putting down old habits; it's about building a new life and taking responsibility for the future. That conversation reminded me that everybody has a testimony. Some people are fighting addiction. Some are fighting discouragement. Some are fighting regret. Some are simply trying to become a better version of themselves. Dexter's journey inspired me to create a new song entitled "Back Porch Testimony." It's a Southern Soul, G-Funk Gospel story about redemption, perseverance, faith, and second chances. A reminder that no matter where you've been, God is not finished with your story.
