July 2026 Soul Culture with Fr. Wilfredo “Willy” Samson, SJ | Faith that Does Justice

What does it mean to have a faith that does not stay silent? In this Soul Session from the July 2026 Joy~Nostalg Culture Day, Fr. Wilfredo “Willy” Samson, SJ, Chaplain of the Philippine General Hospital, leads the Joy~Nostalg community into a deeper reflection on Faith that Does Justice. Drawing from the story of Bartimaeus in Mark 10:46–52, Ignatian spirituality, and his own ministry among the poor, the sick, and those at the margins, Fr. Willy invites us to confront the spiritual blindness that keeps us from truly seeing the suffering around us. This recollection explores the movement from awareness to divine restlessness, and from divine restlessness to action. It reminds us that genuine prayer does not only comfort us. It also disturbs us, opens our hearts, and moves us to love with courage, justice, and responsibility.
