From Blueprint to Sound: The Making of Trilix Studio

Russ Berger Design Group designed Trilix Studio from the ground up — a 3,400-square-foot Dolby Atmos recording studio and creative production facility in Des Moines, Iowa. In this case study, the RBDG team walks through the acoustic design and build process behind one of the Midwest's most advanced recording studios. Trilix Studio features four distinct recording and production spaces inside the historic Crescent Building in Des Moines' Sherman Hill neighborhood. Studio A is a flagship Dolby Atmos control room equipped with a 7.1.4 Genelec speaker system and a blend of analog and digital recording equipment, including a 16-track 2" tape machine and preamps from Rupert Neve, BAE and Universal Audio. Studio B is a versatile isolation and tracking room that doubles as a podcast studio. Studio C is a 225-square-foot edit suite and private screening room with Dynaudio 5.1 surround sound for audio mixing, video editing and color grading. Studio D is a 1,000-square-foot live room with a full lighting grid, track-mounted curtains and a large cyclorama wall built for music recording, video production and beyond. Whether you're a musician, producer, podcast host or video production client, Trilix Studio offers a one-of-a-kind creative environment in the heart of the Midwest.
