National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager (GM) Joeben Tai conducted a site visit and inspection of various housing project sites in Cavite on October 19, 2022. GM Tai visited NHA resettlement projects in Parkstone Estates, Hyacinth Residences, Kristofee Heights 1, and Naic View Residences, all located in Brgy. Calucob, Naic, Cavite; and Ciudad Kaunlaran in Brgy. Molino II, Bacoor City, Cavite. The said projects were identified as relocation sites for informal settler families (ISFs) set to be displaced by the government infrastructure projects, those living in danger areas, and families affected by the Supreme Court Mandamus ruling, which orders the clean-up and rehabilitation of the Manila Bay. GM Tai is conducting a series of site visits and inspections of NHA’s various housing projects to assess their current state and to have an inventory of houses that are available, unoccupied, and ready for disposition. The ocular held by the GM is to determine if there are urgent concerns need to be addressed and if housing units require further improvements. This is in line with the GM’s program thrust of Building Better and More (BBM) housing. He said, “My goal at NHA is to build 1.3million houses before the end of the Marcos administration, and conducting ocular visits of NHA projects helps us to assess the current site situation and identify lands for future housing development projects.” As of this date, I have visited several NHA housing project sites in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Last week, I went to Bacolod and Iloilo. I will continue to inspect all other remaining sites to complete our housing inventory and to prepare the immediate disposition of available housing units to qualified beneficiaries so that we may be able to build more houses,” GM Tai added. GM Tai launched the BBM housing program to provide affordable, resilient, quality homes to Filipino families on par with the housing projects in the private sector.
