We visited historical and touristic places in Malkara city center. Malkara district of Tekirdağ, known for its fertile lands and deep history in the heart of Thrace. It is 50 km away from Tekirdağ and has a population of around 50,000. Its altitude is 250 meters, and it has no coastline. The district is located on the border of Edirne and Çanakkale. City Center and Clock Tower "As we proceeded towards the city center, we were greeted by the Clock Tower, one of the symbols of Malkara. This structure, defying time, stands like the most elegant guardian of the square where the pulse of the district beats." Main Street and District Governor's Office The street where the clock tower is located is the center of the district, and the street continuing from it is the main street. The greetings of the shopkeepers and the energy of the street offer us a true Thracian atmosphere. As we proceed along the road, we see the imposing Governor's Office building, the administrative center of the district. Historical Cannon "Further down the street, a historical surprise awaits us: a historical cannon bearing the traces of ancient times. This cannon, which witnessed the First World War, is also one of the symbols of the district. A Turkish flag has also been placed in front of the cannon. [Hüsrev Kethüda Fountain] Immediately afterwards, we reach the Hüsrev Kethüda Fountain, where art and history meet water. This work, dating from the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent to the present day, is one of the most vivid proofs of Malkara's deep-rooted past. The fountain was built by Hüsrev Kethüda in 1564. Children's Park and Martyrdom Street Below the fountain is the children's park and Martyrdom Street. Gazi Ömer Bey Mosque and Tomb The mosque was built in 1488 and is one of the oldest mosques built by the Ottomans in Rumelia. The mosque, with its square plan, is built of cut stone and has a single dome. 100th Anniversary Park At the last stop of the video, I went to the 100th Anniversary Park with its spacious area and peaceful atmosphere.
