According to initial police investigations, a 36-year-old truck driver was driving his trailer tractor shortly after 10:00 a.m. on the A1 freeway in a southbound direction on the right-hand lane of three lanes. In the middle of the Kamen interchange (A1 / A2), he had to stop due to traffic. Behind the truck, a 68-year-old woman in her black car was also able to brake in time and stop. Both noticed a truck approaching at high speed in the rearview mirror. The 36-year-old recognized the danger and drove his truck as far forward as possible. Fortunately, the 68-year-old was able to steer to the right and almost swerve onto the shoulder. Nevertheless, the approaching 7.5 t truck touched the left rear of the woman's car and then hit the 36-year-old's truck without braking. In the impact, the entire cab of the small truck was compressed and pressed backwards through the bulkhead of the body onto its own loading area. The 44-year-old Romanian driver of the 7.5t truck could not survive this accident. He lost his life at the scene of the accident.
