On June 26, 2025, the Brazilian Supreme Court (STF) approved, by a vote of 8 to 3, the general repercussion thesis of Theme 987. Article 19 of the Brazilian Internet Bill of Rights was declared partially unconstitutional — and in its place, the Supreme Court built a new architecture of responsibility for digital platforms.
