Chapter 2 — The Address

Have you ever found an old toy that reminded you of a happy time? This is a story about a daughter in Holland who goes to look for her mother’s old belongings after a very long war . She visits a woman at a house called Number 46 and finds many familiar objects like a green cardigan and a woollen tablecloth, but they feel very strange and sad in someone else's home . • Learning why we remember the addresses of our old homes from the past . • Understanding how old things like silver spoons and antique plates tell stories about our families . • Discovering that familiar objects can look very different when they are in a new and strange place . • Seeing how a person can decide to be brave and start a new life by letting go of the past .
