Are Social Labs Teaching Us How to Belong?

What if one phone call could turn social anxiety into social impact? In this heartfelt episode, I speak with students from Dr G R Damodaran College of Science - GRD - in Coimbatore about courage, connection and the practical action emerging through their social labs. One student shares how years of social anxiety had kept her quiet in class — until she called classmates she had barely spoken to and invited them to form a team. That small step became a larger group of students working on two initiatives: Scribe Tribe, supporting visually impaired students through volunteer scribes, and Care Plus, creating access to sanitary products on campus. This is my fourth GRD College-related episode since Dr K.K. Ramachandran - Dr Ram / KKR - first joined me on Connect With Confidence in August 2020. His phrase “Learning is happiness” beautifully reflects what unfolds here - students learning through courage, curiosity, compassion and care. This episode is about social courage, belonging, and the ripple effect of reaching out — one conversation, one invitation, one act of care at a time.
