ATONG A SOUTH SUDANESE AUSTRALIAN SHORT FILM
ATONG a South-Sudanese Australian short film. Directed and produced by Zachria Akojam and Co- director Uther Reed Atong a South Sudanese woman migrates to Australia with the help of her father to reconnect with her husband and continue her goal of becoming a licensed doctor. Her husband "Myiek" however is impeding her progress due to their traditional heritage. "Atong" short film was the winner of the 2024 Brisbane Martini's Best Cinematography Award, won Gold at ACS Queensland Awards 2024 and Distinction at ACS Nationals Awards 2025 granted to three-time category contender Chris Shor. I would like to give a million thanks to my incredible Uni JMC of Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne for the knowledge they given to me to reach who I'm.
