The Four Sights

In Buddhism, the Four Sights are the experiences that changed the life of Prince Siddhartha Gautama, who later became Gautama Buddha. While leaving his palace, he saw four things: an old man, a sick person, a dead body, and a wandering holy monk. These sights helped him realize that suffering, sickness, aging, and death are unavoidable parts of life. The peaceful monk inspired him to search for a way to overcome suffering, leading him on the path to enlightenment and the teachings of Buddhism.
