Video Center / Chung Ju-ting Report Affected by the outer circulation of Typhoon Mikra and the southwest monsoon, Neihu District of Taipei City experienced short-duration heavy rainfall this afternoon (25th), causing rapid flooding in many low-lying areas. A woman who has lived in Neihu for over 20 years stated that she had never experienced such severe flooding before. The water entered her basement and flooded all the way to the first floor, damaging all her furniture and appliances, resulting in significant losses. The woman also questioned whether the flooding was due to the dam (gate) not being opened in time, causing insufficient drainage and a sudden surge in water levels. She believes that the relevant authorities should review the timing of their operations, demanding that drainage and flood control issues be addressed and improvement measures proposed.
