Meet the Twin Mechanics Who Never Learned How to Quit | Texas Country Reporter

In a cluttered, grease-stained garage in Brownwood, identical twin brothers Odus and Oruss Stokes are still doing what they have done for most of their lives: fixing cars side by side. At 83 years old, the twins have spent 67 years turning wrenches together, working nearly every day, and keeping everything from Model Ts to old Buicks running with simple tools, shared instincts, and hard-earned know-how. They dress alike, think alike, and rarely spend time apart. Their days are marked by coffee breaks, church on Sundays, and the satisfaction that comes from fixing something broken and watching it work again. While cars have changed and technology has moved on, the Stokes brothers have not. They never talk about quitting. As long as they can turn a bolt and lift a hood, this garage is exactly where they plan to be. Odus & Orus Stokes Stokes Bros.
