Anybody's Answer (Grand Funk Railroad) - Chris Eger's One Take Weekly @ Plum Tree Recording Studio
Support our series and get exclusive/behind the scenes content at / chrisegerband Episode 324: In 1969, Flint, Michigan's power trio, Grand Funk Railroad was born and on August 25th, their debut, On Time was released. The record contained a few easily digestible songs, like "Are You Ready?" and "Time Machine", but also included some deep-cut gems such as "Anybody's Answer". The song is much deeper lyrically than what the casual listener might view as a good-time, rockin' image for the group, and musically ventures through multiple distinct segments, creating a multi-textured, emotional journey for the listener. OTW is engineered and mixed by Richard Williams @ Plum Tree Recording Studio. One Take Weekly aims to present a sneak peek inside a studio recording session - each track performed and filmed in one take, imperfections & all. No overdubs, NO AUTOTUNE, and no trick-photography! (Just good mixing...& bare bones video editing skills) What you see is what you hear - CE.
