St Mary's DSG, Kloof - Baines Wins Interhouse Gymnastics

Our Primary School girls' thoroughly enjoyed watching the Senior Primary Interhouse Gymnastics competition. The girls showed great commitment and gave up many break times, afternoons and even weekends to practice in their groups. The level of talent (and flexibility!) was amazing to watch. Well done to every one of our gymnasts! Please note that the backing track has been removed due to copyright issues. This routine was performed to P!nk - Funhouse Group results: 1st place: Baines 2nd place: Butchers 3rd place: Bishops At the beginning of the term, our Grade 7 volunteer choreographers held auditions for any Senior Primary girls' who wanted to participate in the group routines. The girls needed to be able to execute a number of gymnastic skills in order to be selected. Once the teams were finalised the hard work began. Each Grade 7 choreographer and her Grade 7 helpers, were responsible for planning and organising the routine as well as selecting suitable music, costumes, and organising make-up and hairstyles. The girls were ably guided and supervised by Mrs Riddle and Mrs Reed.
