The highlight of the sale, and the front cover lot, is the outstanding and scarce Second World War 'Operation Colossus' M.M. group of seven to Warrant Officer II Class A.W.A. 'Taffy' Lawley, Parachute Regiment and 'X' Troop 11 S.A.S., who was one of the founding members of the Airborne Forces, and who took part in the first British Airborne Raid of the Second World War, 'Operation Colossus', 10.2.1941.Also included in the auction is a good run of campaign medals, including no fewer than 11 Waterloo Medals; and a fine selection of Foreign Orders, Decorations and Medals, including German Medals from the Collection of Peter Birt Esq., many of which are also for the Waterloo Campaign. The sale is concluded with the scientifically important Order and medallions bestowed upon Dr H. King, C.B.E..
