One of the most mysterious numbers stations of East Germany: “G-03”, also known as “The Gong”. This covert shortwave transmitter was operated by the military intelligence of the GDR and broadcast encrypted number sequences to agents abroad – always introduced by distinctive gong tones that gave the station its codename. In this short documentary, we visit the site where the transmission and reception facilities of this secretive Cold War station once stood.
