visiting the artificial islands, riding the Dubai monorail

In this trip, I'm going to be heading to the Palm islands here in Dubai. My geology professor back in the day gave us an explanation on how they built the artificial islands here in Dubai. The artificial islands are in the shape of a palm, hence the name "palm islands". There are many other artificial islands in this area. There is a mono rail (train) that goes through the artificial islands and its a pretty scenic ride. The ride is about $8 round trip. Its definitely amazing to be able to see how all this was built. Still boggles my mind how artificial islands can be created. Regardless, the ride was nice. The construction, hotel, and surrounding areas are very well taken care, well maintained. The weather is hot! You may want to bring a hat or sun screen. I dont recommend being out during the afternoon. It gets really hot! I'm enjoying my trip and its been fun so far!
