Our Kickstarter Campaign is live, and the rewards for donating are LIT, from having your name on a brick in our shop, to brand new limited edition designs! So, why is this happening?! STORY TIME 🛍️🌟🎉🏢🌱🌎🔥📣🚀🎁💎💻🔍📰🔥🏢🔑💔💼💰💔🚀🎉💚🛠️👋🌞🌇💕🙏💪🏽🌟🏡 I have so much piping hot tea ☕, i could scald your innards if I told you everything that’s happened in the last year… but l know you're busy... so here we go… During the early part of the pandemic, my partner Mario and I made the difficult decision to close our beloved shop. Like many others, we began to work from home and focus on our online business. Within weeks, we knew we needed a bigger space. In January 2021, we moved into a new apartment and built a home studio where we worked and grew our business for the next 18 months. Thanks to you, we outgrew that space too! As a result, we moved the studio to the commercial space we’re in now. Just as we were settling in, and coming up on our 1 year anniversary here, we received an email from the building. To our shock and dismay, they sent us a lease renewal and increased our rent over 30%. No heads up, no phonecall or conversation, just a link and a SHOCKINGLY different number in the monthly rent space…WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!? We don't have time to figure that out. But, believe me, we tried to negotiate…ok, how about a 5% increase? 10% and a 2 year lease?…they called us "UNREASONABLE" and refused to negotiate with us unless we came up closer to their new demands, ultimately to request that we move out all together. CLUTCH MY PEARLS, I WAS....SHOCKED. Price gouging & bad business aside, that’s just rude! At this point, it was clear they did not want us to stay, and for no apparent reason. Even if we could come to an agreement on price, who wants to do business with these people? NOT ME! And it turned out that we were not the only tenants they are doing this to. And believe me, I have all the receipts. But, when life gives you lemons 🍋 ... OPEN A NEW STORE 🛍️, am I right? So, I started looking around. AND THERE IT WAS… just down the street, right in our favorite neighborhood by all the thrift shops and restaurants and graffiti we love so much. A beautiful gallery style glass store-front, with exposed brick walls and a glass garage door. High ceilings, over 13' and a sunken den and loft space in the back. KNOCK ME OVER WITH FEATHER. Goodbye little studio, and hello world! We can't wait to set up shop, and open the doors to you! But this is big. We need your help and support.
