What initially started as just an art project ended up becoming so much more. In February of 2008, YouTube user Nana825763 (also called "PiroPito") uploaded a video titled "Username666," showcasing an alleged page filled with malware and computer viruses that caused digital and even paranormal distress to any user that visited it. Despite PiroPito himself claiming that the video was just a work of art, many online users are still convinced that Username666 was a real page that infiltrated YouTube, including their own testimonials and even screenshots of their experiences with it. Regardless of the truth behind these claims, the legend continues to leave an imprint on internet culture, becoming one of the many examples that would help shape the way we fact-check and perceive information online today.
