Rough Trade 50th Anniversary Vinyl Series Review - The Streets & Sufjan Stevens Worth Buying?

Rough Trade is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an exclusive series of 50 iconic albums pressed on limited edition coloured vinyl. Rather than subscribing to the Rough Trade Essential Club, I decided to hand-pick the records I’d been wanting to add to my collection for years. In this video I take an in-depth look at two standout releases from the series: 🎵 The Streets – Original Pirate Material (Gold Marble Vinyl) 🎵 Sufjan Stevens – Illinois (Superhero Splatter Vinyl) I’ll cover: The history and impact of each album Packaging and presentation Pressing quality Mastering and sound quality Whether these Rough Trade editions are actually worth buying How they compare with previous reissues While the Rough Trade 50th Anniversary editions aren’t newly mastered from fresh metalwork, they’ve been beautifully presented with exclusive artwork, coloured vinyl and excellent liner notes. But do they justify adding another copy to your shelves? If you’ve been considering this series, hopefully this review will help you decide. Have you picked up any of the Rough Trade 50th Anniversary releases? Let me know your favourites in the comments below!
