New leaf growth is natural for durian trees, especially after a period of suppressed leaf growth, during flowering and fruiting stages, and is most critical during the "burnt leaf" and "egg-sized" stages. Durian trees that experience new leaf growth during the fruiting stage can become critical if not managed correctly. Here are Uncle Nirun's management guidelines: 1. Watering: Water regularly and use mulch around the base of the tree. The soil should be high in organic matter. 2. Fertilization: Apply both soil and foliar fertilizers. For soil fertilization, use a balanced organic chemical formula. For foliar fertilization, especially during the critical new leaf growth stage, accelerate leaf maturation with 0-42-56 or 0-52-34 fertilizer at a rate of 500 grams per 200 liters of water. 3. Soil Fertilization: In addition to balanced organic chemical fertilizers, it's recommended to also apply calcium to the soil, as calcium cannot be mixed with foliar fertilizer. 4.
