The most beautiful ride in the Berici Hills - The Via dei Berici Gravel In this video, we'll show you the LONG route of the Via dei Berici Gravel, the first edition of the event, which will be held in Vicenza on Saturday, September 30, 2023. This route is 140 km long and features 1,950 meters of elevation gain. It starts in the historic center of Vicenza and passes through many towns in the Berici Hills. The first part of the route is smooth and flat; you'll ride along the dirt roads of Torri di Quartesolo and then along the Treviso-Ostiglia cycle path. You'll begin climbing the Berici Hills on the Strada della Tecla, then, after a quick descent on asphalt, you'll reach Lake Fimon. From there, you'll climb to San Gottardo on the Strada del Raposso and move to the southernmost part of this route in the Berici Hills, cycling through Mossano, Barbarano Vicentino, Villaga, Sossano, and Orgiano. We'll start pedaling uphill again, heading towards the Monti Comunali di Brendola. We'll then head back north of the hills, pedaling towards Vicenza. A final short climb, Colonia Bedin, leads to the Sanctuary of Monte Berico. The final descent leads to Vicenza. Four refreshment points will be set up along the route, plus one refreshment point at the finish line (LONG route). The Via dei Berici Gravel also offers a 90km MEDIUM route and a 60km SHORT route, which follow the same route as the LONG route. This route is recommended for gravel bikes, as it's 50% dirt and the surface is almost always compact (with only a few short technical sections). We recommend 40mm to 45mm tires. The scenery is spectacular, and during the ride you can admire the Piccole Dolomiti, the Lessini Mountains, the Euganean Hills, and the Veneto Plain.
