A: The High Pinion Front Dana 60 is a staple of most high-end vehicle builds. It features a reverse cut ring gear so you are using the strong side of the gear and allows for high pinion driveline angles. It is a great balance and packages better than larger diffs into vehicles with tight requirements near the engine. However, if your build has high horsepower and frequent hard shock load (hits) on the axles, its better to step up to larger ring gear strength. Q: Does a shaved 14 Bolt really help clearance? A: Yes. A proper shave can net clearance similar to running tires about three inches taller, which is meaningful on breakover and ledges. The semi-shave 14 bolt has the exact same clearance height as our HP60 casting, it's just a little wider in potential area to hit a rock. See 01:30. Q: What keeps axle flange bolts from loosening with a spool A: We use a larger flange bolt pattern and dowel pins so the shaft is positively located and clamp load stays consistent. See 02:37 Q: Can ECGS build custom widths and pinion offsets A: Yes. We can build to your WMS width and pinion offset and add trusses and full hydro as needed. Our team of master fabricators and mechanics can build just about any combination you desire.
