Tunnel Bus Series Episode 24: Central Kowloon Bypass (Yau Ma Tei Section Tunnel)

In this video, we take a ride through a relatively new tunnel. Opened to traffic on 21st December 2025, the Yau Ma Tei Section Tunnel of the Central Kowloon Bypass helps reduce the travelling time between Kowloon Bay and Yau Ma Tei down to 5 minutes by omitting the hustling and bustling Central Kowloon area such as Mong Kok and Kowloon City. As of filming this video, the Kowloon Bay Section Tunnel is still under construction, and is expected to open to traffic in the latter part of this year. The Kowloon Bay Section Tunnel will connect Kowloon Bay (near Kai Tak Runway Area) with the Lam Tin Interchange (where the Lam Tin portal of the Tseung Wan O - Lam Tin Tunnel is) I was on KMB Route X6C (Hong Kong Children's Hospital to Mei Foo) from Kai Tak Tunnel BBI - Wang Chin Street to West Kowloon Station (Jordan Road). That day, it was the first day it got rerouted via the Central Kowloon Bypass (applies to Mei Foo direction only), which explains the noisier than usual cabin.
