Unfortunately, these terms are often used to mislead uneducated buyers into purchasing snakes with insufficient Dwarf and SD influence (lower than 50% Dwarf/SD Blood), or by completely misrepresenting larger growing Retics altogether! Pure locality Dwarf and Super Dwarf Retics from the Selayer, Jampea, Kayuadi, Tombolongan, Kalatoa, Madu, and Karompa islands of Indonesia form a group represented by two unique subspecies of Reticulated python that have actually adapted to live in harsh environments with their diminutive size- packing all the intelligence, confidence, and incredibly beautiful color and pattern of the world's longest snake into a tiny little package, some being even as small as corn snakes! Unfortunately, they are still quite rare in captivity, and difficult to find except through dedicated breeders.
