The Smoky Mountains Were HOT... But the Powwow Was Even Hotter!

Summer keeps rolling, and we're not slowing down. This weekend our journey takes us to Cherokee, North Carolina, in the beautiful Smoky Mountains for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians' annual 4th of July Powwow. It's one of the highlights of the summer powwow season, bringing together incredible dancers, singers, artists, vendors, and families to celebrate Native culture and community. I'll be honest—this was one of the hottest powwows I've ever attended. I've been to plenty of events in the summer heat, but this one definitely tested everyone. Even with the high temperatures, the energy never faded. The arena stayed alive with dancing and songs helped to keep the dancers dancing in the heat. As always, my goal is to bring you along for the experience. Whether you couldn't make the trip or you're discovering powwows for the first time, I hope this video gives you a real feel for what it's like to spend the weekend here. From the Grand Entry and dancing to the vendors and everything happening around the grounds, I try to capture the moments that make each powwow unique. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
