Umahi Tells Contractors no Concrete Layout, no Contract

Nigeria is not just faced with dearth of infrastructure, but also bedeviled by substandard ones. The Minister of Works, David Umahi has let it be known that under his watch, there will be no award of contract for road construction without concrete layout. Speaking in Lagos during an inspection tour of the Oshodi-Oworonshoki-Ojota road, Umahi wondered why some contractors are against the use of more durable and cost-effective concrete technology, like cement for road construction.
