Myrtle Beach Pavilion (1989, Home Movie)

I have been digitizing my family's home movies, and I just finished rendering this 1989 clip from the Myrtle Beach Pavilion. Given that the theme park no longer exists, and many people I have talked to have fond memories of it, I wanted to share what I have. There are shots of kid rides (helicopters, log ride, Ferris wheel, dune buggies, and boats), the Pavilion at night, the exterior of the Ripley's Museum (which I referred to as the 'cracked building' for years) and the inside of the arcade (ski ball, a Dumbo machine, etc.) Naturally, this being a 31-year old home movie, the footage isn't the best and there are also shots of my dad, mom (who passed away years ago), and a three-year old me throughout. I also pieced it together relatively quickly since I have dozens of other clips to edit and send off to family members for Christmas. With that said, I hope the video (muffled sound and video glitches aside) can help bring back some fond memories for anyone who recalls taking summer beach trips with family. I was inspired to upload this by the gentleman who runs the YouTube channel Myrtle Beach Things, which has a great collection of videos on the area, past and present. For Mr. Myrtle, thank you for the soothing content during this troubled year, and if you want to use this footage in future videos, feel free to do so. I also have other MB footage and some from Ghost Town in North Carolina, mostly from the late 80s-mid 90s. If anyone is interested in seeing more, I can upload it.
