Learnus : "There’s a scientist in my school! A partnership approach to educational neuroscience"

A webinar presented by Dr. Radhika Gosavi Associate Director Stanford-Synapse Brainwave Learning Center (BLC). As an educational neuroscientist, Dr Gosavi works at the intersection of research, innovation, and practice to reimagine education through the science of learning and helps learners reach their fullest potential in partnership with teachers, students, and school leaders. “The Brainwave Learning Center (BLC) is a unique partnership between Stanford University and Synapse School focused on connecting research on how the brain learns with everyday classroom practice. At the heart of the BLC is close collaboration between researchers and the school community. We design and study learning experiences together, with a focus on areas like literacy, math, and executive function. This work happens right in classrooms, as well as our in-school neuroscience lab, helping us better understand how students think and learn in real time. One of our most exciting programs invites middle school students (ages 12-14) to become research assistants, giving them hands-on opportunities to explore questions about the brain and learning while developing a strong sense of ownership over their education.” In this session, Dr. Radhika Gosavi shares practical examples of how this partnership brings research and teaching together, what we are learning from working directly with students and teachers, and how collaboration can support deeper, more meaningful learning experiences in schools.
