LEGO set 6490 Amazon Crossing - Small LEGO Set, Big Adventure – Here's Why

In this review, I take a closer look at LEGO set 6490 Amazon Crossing, released in 1997 as part of LEGO Town, more specifically in the small Outback subtheme. The set contains 117 parts and one minifigure, but with a terrain build, a yellow expedition jeep, a crocodile, a gray parrot, accessories and a pulley system, it still offers a surprising amount of atmosphere and play value. I show the box, the manual, the parts, the unique minifigure combination, the creek build, the jeep with spring suspension, the working pulley system and a few interesting collector details. The extra plume is especially important: it is not used in the build and it is not clearly shown on the box, but according to the inventory, it does belong with a fully correct set. The name of the set is also worth discussing. Amazon Crossing refers to the Amazon in South America, while Outback refers to the remote inland regions of Australia. Personally, I think the UK name Crocodile Creek is the more logical choice. For a small LEGO Town set from the nineties, Amazon Crossing has a surprising amount of character. It is not a large set, but it gives you a compact adventure scene with animals, terrain, a vehicle, accessories and a clear storyline. #LEGO #LEGOTown #VintageLEGO #LEGOReview #LEGO6490 #AmazonCrossing #Outback #OldLEGO #ClassicTown #LEGO1997 #HenrysVintageToys
