JJ 12AX7 Vacuum Tubes Compared: ECC83S, ECC83MG, ECC803S, and E83CC
Comparing four types of JJ 12AX7 Vacuum Tubes: ECC83S, ECC83MG, ECC803S, and E83CC. This is just a verbal description based on swapping tubes in and out multiple times and observing their characteristics. For this 1967 Fender Pro Reverb, I went with the ECC83MG for its mid-forwardness and note separation. It is a great sounding tube, and I say that having many dozens of older tubes and experience with the vintage brands - RCA, Mullard, Amperex, Telefunken, etc. No audio examples here. Just my opinion. Take it for what it costs you.
