Touchdown in Switzerland: Trains, Old Towns, and Hidden Surprises

Day 1 is officially in the books, and Switzerland is already living up to every bit of its reputation. After flying out from Toronto, we touched down in Zurich and immediately put our 1st Class Swiss Travel Pass (best decision ever -snagged it on Klook) to work. The efficiency of the Swiss rail system is no joke. Armed with the SBB app, navigating the trains and local trams felt completely seamless. We made our way to our base in the Lucerne/Kriens area and immediately set out to explore. Walking through the cobblestone streets of Lucerne’s renowned Old Town felt like stepping directly into a postcard-complete with centuries-old architecture and beautiful lakeside views. To wrap up our first evening, we took a spontaneous trip out to Vitznau. Nestled quietly right on the water at the foot of the mountains, this peaceful little spot was an absolute surprise and the perfect, serene way to end a long day of travel. If today was just day one, I can't wait to see what the rest of this trip holds.
