In December 2022, during a large-scale raid against suspected Reichsbürger (citizens of the German Reich), police arrested the nobleman Heinrich XIII, Prince Reuss. According to the Federal Prosecutor's Office, he was allegedly the head of a group that planned a violent overthrow of the Federal Republic of Germany. For almost two years, trials against the so-called "Reuss Group" have been underway at the Higher Regional Courts in Frankfurt, Munich, and Stuttgart. In this 11KM episode, WDR investigative journalist Martin Kaul goes behind the scenes of one of the largest anti-terrorism trials in Germany. He recounts the moment when the 74-year-old Reuss broke his silence in the Frankfurt courtroom.
