Why wouldn't Vince Neil release this ballad?

In 2005, in anticipation for a full Mötley Crüe reunion, VH1 shot a show called "Remaking Vince Neil" where the singer underwent plastic surgery and personal training to get back on the road with his band. Another component of the reality show was him recording a new song in studio with legendary songwriter Desmond Child called "Promise Me." For some reason though, it was never even released outside of this show. I play it for you and discuss why we never saw an official release for this ballad.
