Uganda continues to mourn the victims of the tragic King David Junior School, Ndejje bus crash that occurred in Kapchorwa District while pupils and teachers were returning from an educational tour to Sipi Falls. According to the latest official updates, the bodies of the 21 deceased have been taken to the Kapchorwa Hospital Mortuary, where post-mortem examinations and identification by relatives are taking place before they are released for burial. Many survivors remain hospitalized. Government officials have confirmed that nine children are in critical condition at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, while 16 injured pupils are receiving treatment at Kaserem Health Centre IV, and three others are being treated at Bulambuli Health Centre IV. Additional survivors are also receiving medical care at Kapchorwa General Hospital. Medical teams continue to monitor the injured as families pray for their recovery. The Government has since temporarily closed King David Junior School, suspended school trips nationwide, and launched a multi-agency investigation into the cause of the crash. Authorities say investigations are ongoing, while police continue gathering evidence to establish exactly what led to the fatal accident. This tragedy has left Uganda in deep sorrow.
