Jewish demons often don’t have physical form but can influence the psyche, dreams, diseases, infertility, and misfortune. Unlike Christian ideas of hell, Judaism doesn’t have a clear antagonist like Satan. Evil spirits often act by God’s will or as a result of human sin. These demons follow their own logic: they are born from violations of religious law, “wasted seed,” refusal to procreate — or even improper toilet use. Particularly fascinating are the female demons, who symbolize the fear of uncontrolled sexuality and female independence. She seduced angels and humans and is associated with promiscuity and child abduction. She became Adam’s demonic partner after he was exiled from Eden. Golem is a humanoid made from clay, animated by mystical formulas — especially the Divine Name. The most famous is the Golem of Prague, created by Rabbi Judah Loew to protect the Jewish community.
