Why More Riders Need to Get Comfortable Using the Front Brake

Most riders are uncomfortable using the front brake, and that can actually put you in more dangerous situations on the road. While teaching my brother how to ride, I noticed he relied almost entirely on the rear brake. Eventually he locked the rear wheel and the bike slid —which was a wake-up call for him. The truth is, the front brake provides the majority of your stopping power on a motorcycle. When used correctly and smoothly, it’s the safest and most effective way to slow down. If you're a new rider or even an experienced rider who avoids the front brake, practicing proper braking technique can make a huge difference in your safety and confidence.
