We divide the work into 3 sections, as explained in the video, to increase the ears: 5 increases for a newborn, and 1 to 2 more increases for each size. We close the ears in even numbers on either side of the center marker, proportional to the increases chosen. The back of the hood is closed like a Charlotte stitch by inserting decreases, knitting 2 tog at the beginning and end of each knit row.
